Call to Order: Meeting comes to order at 11:00 AM.
Roll Call of Officers and Trustees: Sign-in Sheet.
Correspondence: None
Minutes of Preceding Meeting: April 11th Meeting Minutes: Motions to approve Jim and Elizabeth. All in favor.
Treasurer’s Report: April Financials: Motions to approve Jack and Mary. All in favor.
New Business:
President Hynes reported on information obtained from the coalition about the deer problem.
Deer: New Jersey Fish and Game proposed 2 options.
1. Trap and euthanize. (Cost: $600 a deer.)
2. Hunting: bow and arrow. (Free – Township will pay for all of it.)
Sterilizing is not considered an option. Research studies show that sterilizing does not work. The HOA needs to give permission for a controlled hunt on our property. New Jersey Fish and Game will supply a map identifying areas far enough from homes to allow tree stands. They will consult with the HOA to select locations for the tree stands. The hunters will be shooting the arrows down. The HOA will be notified of dates and times so homeowners will know. This is the beginning of the process. The culling will occur during regular hunting season September through February. All hunters will be vetted and must be in good standing. This is not a one-year plan. New Jersey Fish and Game indicated that it would be an every year process until the herd sizes are manageable.
ELECTIONS: President Hynes presented the vote count for the Trustees election and reviewed dates and deadlines for votes for the Treasurer’s election. June 1 is the swearing in of trustees and officer.
HOPA SURVEYS: HOPA Surveys have been coming in regularly in response to our letter to homeowners.
CONTRACTS FOR RENEWAL
Stouts: Stouts has our draft proposed contract. We are waiting on the gas surcharges. We are currently operating under the expired contract of two years ago.
President Hynes presented a list of contracts and expiration dates. She asked the board to review the list and determine which contracts they wish to use an attorney generated contract. We will discuss next meeting.
INSURANCE FOR VOLUNTEERS
We are looking into insurance for volunteers when they are doing work on the common grounds. It will be an extra $350 on the insurance policy to cover volunteers. This will save money from hiring an outside vendor. The insurance also covers Medical and accidental Death and Dismemberment. Motions to approve additional insurance expense for volunteers: Joe and Lori. All in favor.
COMMON GROUNDS SPRING CLEAN-UP
We are looking for volunteers to help pick up debris and branches in the common grounds. If trees are between 2 neighbors house and can’t agree on who is responsible, they can come to an ADR meeting.
Google maps shows property lines of houses. All you need to do is put in your address.
We will take care of two trees. Motions: Elizabeth and Jack. All approve.
RENTALS
We are sending out letters to rentals. Renters and landlords need to come in for a compliance meeting. It’s a $250 fee for new renters. Rental renewal fee is $125. Homeowner should call Maria Brush to set up a compliance meeting.
Meeting adjourned 12:00: Jack and Lori made the motion. All in favor.
