From the Desk of the President - November 2022

Dear Neighbors,

The Recreation Committee has gone above and beyond planning events throughout the year. It was a long road back from our COVID closure. I remember saying in one of my letters to you a few months ago – that the Recreation Committee breathed life back into the clubhouse.

Unfortunately, participation has slowed. Please support activities at our clubhouse. Tickets for Recreation Committee activities are available at the clubhouse Wednesdays and Saturdays, 10:30 until noon. Join the Recreation Committee to plan new events. Our Officers and Board of Trustees have committed themselves to opening the Clubhouse in the evenings to accommodate our working Homeowners. Let Recreation know what types of activities interest you. Their next meeting is November 9th at 11 am at the Clubhouse. Even if you can’t attend, call Lorraine Leming at 973-951-0975 with your ideas and she will share them with the Committee.

Sunday, October 30, 2022, noon: Food Bank Bingo. One board costs $5.00. Additional boards cost $1. A hot dog, soda, and chips will be available for $3. All we ask is that you bring small unexpired canned goods and boxed foods for donation to the food bank.

Thursday, November 3, 2022, 10am until noon: All veterans and spouses, please attend our free pancake and sausage breakfast. RSVP to Sue at [email protected] or Lorraine at 973-951-0975.

Saturday, December 3, 2022, 2 pm to 6 pm: Our Holiday party includes dinner and entertainment for $25.00. Catering by Casertano Cucina. Entertainment by the Chorus and the Wrinkle Revue.

Join us on New Year’s Eve. Look for details in the December issue of the Sentinel.

The Recreation Committee hopes to schedule a Super Bowl party in the New Year.

Our Health and Welfare Committee invites all Homeowners to come out for their Community Watch meeting on November 21st at 7pm. The Health and Welfare Committee is kicking off their monthly community events with Driver’s Safety on December 2nd.    This Committee plans to offer informational programs every first Friday of the month. One such program is training in use of a heart defibrillator. Stay tuned for more information in the December issue of the Sentinel.

I am working with AARP to get income tax preparation back into the Clubhouse for your convenience. We are still discussing the details. It appears that income tax preparation will be available on Tuesdays starting February 7th and extending eleven weeks. Tax preparation will occur by appointment only. Please check the December Sentinel for more information.

We look forward to seeing you at the many events at the Clubhouse.

Thank you. Georgine Natelli, October 14, 2022
