Happy Halloween! Where did the summer go? One of the positive things about the end of summer and the beginning of fall is the Pumpkin Spice coffee creamer and all the other pumpkin favorites. For me fall has always been known for new beginnings and a fresh start. That’s why I’m working hard to make sure the Sentinel has all the information you need to know about events going on and other important information for our residents. If you have something you would like to share with our community, send it to me. If you know of an upcoming event, send it as well. Just remember, that I need the information a month prior to the event.
For the old-school residents out there, like myself, you’re getting ready to do your winter cleaning; changing your curtains and comforters. Before you throw out old comforters, please consider donating them to a pet rescue. You can contact Magda at: 848-448-3742. She volunteers and runs a cat rescue and is always in need of comforters, sheets, pet beds, toys and food. You can give her a call and she will come pick up your goodies.
The Sentinel is in the midst of going through a reorganization. My goal is to make it easier for you to navigate through. I’m working on getting all the ads in the back under Business Directory. The last two pages will be the Important Information and Religious Service information. You asked for a two page monthly calendar and I hope you are pleased with the outcome. Many residents asked why the calendar isn’t in the centerfold and the answer is because those pages are reserved for colored pictures of clubhouse events.
If there is something in particular that you would like to see in upcoming issues, send your suggestions to [email protected]. The deadline to send me your information is October 14th for the November issue. If you’re having an event, please contact Vicki Kohanek to take pictures and also send me your flyer so it can be included in the Sentinel as well as Community Connections Newspaper.
Hope you all have a wonderful Halloween. And as always, take a few minutes to check on your neighbor. A simple hello can make their day!
