Board of Trustee Meeting - November 18, 2019

Call to Order:  President Pelonero called the meeting to order at 2:54 PM.  The meeting was held in accordance with the SRPW Governing Documents and Robert’s Rules of Order, 11th Edition, and is being recorded.

A motion to dispense with the Pledge of Allegiance, the Opening Prayer, the Roll Call of Officers and Trustees, Correspondence, Trustee Reports, Committee Reports, Unfinished Business, Announcements and Good and Welfare as they were covered in the prior Quarterly Homeowners meeting was made by Joe McCurnin and seconded by Joanne Matina.  All were in favor; motion carried.

Minutes of Preceding Meeting:  Requested a motion to approve the August 12, 2019 Quarterly Homeowners Meeting minutes as presented (minutes were printed in April 2019 Sentinel).  Motion to accept was made by Kathleen Cuttingham and seconded by Elizabeth Wismann.  All were in favor; motion carried.

October 21, 2019 Board of Trustee Meeting Minutes: Requested a motion to approve the October 21, 2019 Board of Trustee Meeting minutes as presented.  Motion to accept was made by Joe McCurnin and seconded by Kathleen Cuttingham.  All were in favor; motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: October 2019 Monthly Cash Disbursements/Cash Report was read by Treasurer Lorraine Romero.  Transportation for October is not on this report and will appear next month because we received the bill late. Kathleen Cuttingham had a question about a plus and minus on the report; Lorraine said this was because we were overcharged and had to put some money back in and would have a better response in the morning. There being no other questions, the report was accepted as read.  Same will be filed in the library and printed in next month’s Sentinel.

Mike informed us that we have a new attorney; Michael Beck has left the firm to work for the State’s Attorney General’s office.  Lynn Dunn from the same firm is now our attorney and is familiar with our community as she represented us when we were under receivership.
We were also informed that Bill Campbell, our accountant who prepares our year end paperwork and provides advice to us throughout the year, is retiring at the end of the year.  He has sold his firm to another firm, who will be keeping the same fees for next year, and has ensured employment for his current employee.

Good and Welfare:
A homeowner asked why we don’t use the robo calls to remind homeowners of our meetings.  We currently have only 110 people signed up right now. We have to get more people signed up here to reach everyone.  We will add robo calls to let them know about meetings.  This homeowner thought we should be using robo calls more often.

Vivian announced that another class of children has been added to the holiday party for the Head Start children; tickets to attend this event will only be sold two more Saturdays, if you are interested in attending.

A request was made by President Pelonero for a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Elizabeth Wismann made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Joanne Matina.  All were in favor, motion carried.  Meeting adjourned at 3:09 PM.

Respectfully submitted,
Rita Palacios
