Update on Reopening of Holiday City South Clubhouse - January 2021

Your Trustees are constantly being asked when the club will reopen.
Unless something substantially changes regarding the much-needed indemnity from frivolous lawsuits, we will not be open for at least the first quarter of 2021.
We are now entering the10th month of our clubhouse being closed, as well as all activities being canceled, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite pleas from small business owners and HOAs, the New Jersey State Senate and Assembly have refused to discuss affording us protection from frivolous lawsuits.
The United States Senate has proposed inclusion of this indemnity in the next COVID-19 relief bill, but it is being blocked by supporters of the Trial Lawyers’ Association.
Your State and Federal officials are not responding to the needs of our communities and are disregarding both the social and monetary damage being done to small businesses and homeowner associations.
If we were to receive the indemnity from either the State or Federal Government, we must then comply with mandated protections and procedures ensuring the safe use of our facilities, which we are prepared to do.
We are ready to open and will adhere to both the CDC and State Guidelines, providing a safe environment for our membership.
The members of this association should make their feelings known by either calling the offices of their elected State and Federal officials or by penning their displeasure to those same officials.
