A Message from Your President - November 2021

We should take time this month to recognize those who served our great nation and especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedoms.
We are truly fortunate to be living in the United States of America.
We are now entering into the months that will bring a change in weather, the leaves on the trees will change color and many of us it will require some heavier clothing. It’s a time when we can reflect on the events of summer and
look forward to the holiday season.
Hopefully, this year we will be able to gather with family and friends and spend some quality time together. Recently I have had the opportunity to spend time reflecting on the people and things that matter most in our lives. I am truly grateful for everything each passing day brings. Especially for our family, friends, and the hope for a bright future. If nothing else, it has become apparent the things that matter most are those that bring joy to our lives. Whether it be fond memories of years past and family, or in more recent times a growing family and new friends. I know that I am grateful for our years in Holiday City South and the changes the experience of living has provided us. We have made many friends, become involved with many of the activities and most of all enjoy the lifestyle we found at Holiday City South.
Our second new homeowner’s meet and greet of the year was an informative event and your Trustees had the opportunity to interact with many of our new homeowners. Once again, our thanks to Trustee, Rich Bohan for putting together the event, the participation by the Board members, Club Presidents, Bingo Administrator and a special thanks to all the individuals who volunteered to make the event a success. Holiday City South is truly an active senior community. Our hope is that you will be able to find your interests and direct them to the many clubs and activities that are available to you in Holiday City South. Unfortunately, with so many in attendance I was not able to meet everyone at the event, but I hope to be able to meet everyone in the near future and personally welcome each of you to our community.
Once again, I want to remind everyone that the Clubs and Activities will be in the Bldg. C auditorium every Friday from 9:30 am to 11:00 am for membership signups and event ticket sales. Bingo is back on Monday nights – come early to get a seat as the venue has been packed. Let’s all get out and support our Clubs, Activities and Bingo. Remember, they are the heart of our association. Every time we support a Club, an Activity or Bingo, we are supporting the association.
As a reminder, we are entering flu season, so keep your eyes on the Southwind calendar for the annual flu shot events that will be held in the Bldg. C auditorium. These events are being sponsored by the Ocean County Health Department and Walmart’s Pharmacy in cooperation with the Holiday City South Board of Trustees.
November 2nd is election day and for those who would like to vote in person, the Ocean County Board of Elections will have in person voting in the building C auditorium at our clubhouse. No matter how you choose to vote remember to vote, it’s your right as an American and your opportunity to express yourself and make your voice heard.
I will end this month’s message with the following quote: “If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your troubles, you wouldn’t sit for a month.”  Theodore Roosevelt
Stay safe and healthy and my best to everyone,
Mike Signorile
