Reach Out for Help

From the Ocean County Office of Senior Services

“Any relative, partner, friend or neighbor who has a significant personal relationship with, and provides a broad range of assistance for, an older person, or an adult with a chronic or disabling condition.” Does that describe you?

Did you know that you are a CAREGIVER? In Ocean County the situation can be complicated as many are family members who are long distance caregivers because their care recipient moved to Ocean to enjoy one of our 92 retirement communities.

Those families can be located a significant distance away. Is that you? Asking for help is a sign of strength; why not call us? The Office of  Senior Services has prepared a packet of information to assist caregivers in learning about the many programs designed to assist them in their multiple caregiver responsibilities.

From transportation to volunteer visitors, even grants to assist in paying for a home health aide, the list is comprehensive. We would be glad to send that to you, call 732-929-2091 or 1-800-668-4899 to request your copy. At times though, the information is just not enough. There are so many options out there; how do you really know what’s best for an individual caregiving situation?

From Meals on Wheels to the choice of a nursing home, our Senior Services staff are available by appointment or by phone to discuss the numerous services available within Ocean County. Call 732-929-2091 or 1-800-668-4899; someone will be glad to assist you.
