Holiday City/Silver Ridge Park Coalition Meeting Minutes February 6, 2015

Holiday City/Silver Ridge Park Coalition
Meeting Minutes
February 6, 2015
Holiday Heights Clubhouse
Submitted by Anthony J. Trause, Secretary
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by President Judy Noonan and attendance was taken.
Ken Anderson, Code Enforcement Officer for Berkeley Township, reported on the Bill regarding vacant homes. If the listed owner is an in-state resident, they are given ten days to comply with maintenance notification. If no response, a lien is placed on the property by a court order and owner pays the costs of the town rectifying the situation.
If the owner is out of state, we now have the right to put a lien on the home which we did not previously have. They now must have an in-state representative required by the legislation and if there is non-compliance within 30 days they can be fined $2500 per day and $1500 per day for
no in-state representative.
He also said that we should notify our   communities they are required to have smoke detectors and fire extinguishers and if people need help in installing or acquiring, they should contact his office.
The next speaker was Dr. Roselli, Superintendent of the Berkeley Township Schools, and Dr. Zito, Principal of Potter School. They will be conducting a computer training session for Seniors. It will be held on May 4, 5, and 6 at the Potter School. They are calling it Project JOY or Joining Older and Younger. Different areas of computing will be presented each day and you do not have to attend all sessions. Seniors are asked to pre-register because of limited seating.
