Berkeley Farmer’s Market Returns

The town’s Farmer’s Markets are officially back in business for the 2021 summer season.
Both the Route 9 location (at the Berkeley Recreation Department, 630 Atlantic City Blvd.) and the newer location in South Seaside Park (at the entrance to Island Beach State Park) opened in May. The Bayville location will be open every Tuesday through October, while the South Seaside Park location will be open every Monday and Friday through October.
That means fresh produce, along with herbs, jellies, sauces, and other goods made with locally grown produce, as well as food truck vendors at the Rt. 9 location.
The weekly farmer’s market provides residents with a place to get freshly grown local produce and other goods. It’s an alternative to your grocery store’s produce section that has grown steadily each year. This will be the seventh year the township hosts the market.
After  initially being held at Veteran’s Park, in 2017 it moved to the Recreation Department offices parking lot at 630 Route 9 in Bayville. The market is there every Tuesday from 10am until 5pm.
In addition to fresh fruits and vegetables, the market also offers hand-crafted goods such as jams and jellies, in addition to food trucks and other vendors (though those food trucks will not be at the South Seaside Park location). Some growers are local, and some drive upwards of two hours to bring their fresh goods here.
