Trustee's Corner - March 2021

Adrian Corrigan:
You may have noticed that the lights on the north side of Buildings A&B are out. The reason is because of an underground short or break in the wiring. We are in the process of receiving electrical bids for the repair work.  How this problem occurred is unknown to the members of the Board.  Our maintenance crew, Frank and Art, are working hard bringing the buildings into shape.  Hope to see everyone soon. Stay Safe and Stay Healthy.  Get the vaccine shots.

If there are any HCS resident who are artists and would like to dedicate their time and experience in painting a mural in Building C, please contact me.  Thank You

George Mason:
To all our members of Holiday City South, I would like to extend hopeful expectations that the Covid-19 vaccines will continue find their way to our community soon. Meanwhile, everyone should continue to practice virus protocol. Every effort is being made by our Trustee President to secure the vaccine as early as possible for distribution to our members. Hopefully, this is the light at the end of the tunnel and this virus. Until then, stay safe so we can all return to the lifestyle we once enjoyed prior to the pandemic.

Betty Higgins:
I would like to thank all the dog walkers who take the extra time to pick up their dog’s feces (“poop”). I walk my dog every day and have noticed that many of us do walk their dogs on the outside grass along the curb, but I have also noticed that many dog walkers do not take the time to pick up their dog’s feces.  Dog feces can transmit diseases to other dogs, such as intestinal parasites, like roundworms and hookworms, and produce their vile offspring in their host’s intestines. These are subsequently shed in the dog’s feces and when left on the ground these parasites can be picked up by the next victim – someone else’s dog.  Please try and take the time to be more courteous to your neighbors and to your own dog and pick it up.  Remember to always carry a disposal bag with you when walking your dog to pick up the feces.  Thank you for allowing me to vent for my dog.

Gail Ziemski:
Over the past few months, life has become just another day for many of us. I decided during my time at home I can surely do some home improvements on my own.
I would love to hear from the members of our community how you’re keeping yourself busy during our shut down. Maybe you can share some great books you have read or crafts you have worked on.

How about you men too. Anyone doing some projects?

Let’s hear about the movies you enjoyed. Recipes you’ve tried. I like to keep busy between my trustee assignments, watching Netflix and helping those who need assistance during the shutdown. I’m glad that those people who have reached out to me I was able to help. I’m here to help, just ask and if I am unable to, I will work my hardest getting you to the resources you may need.

Until the weather turns to Spring, please stay safe, well and warm. If you need assistance, you can email me at:  [email protected].  Hope to see everyone soon.
