Holiday City at Berkeley Shareowners Meeting - October 3, 2018

Prior to officially calling the meeting to order the president announced that Mayor Amato and members of the town council, and the police department and others would speak to the residents and discuss their concerns.
The meeting was officially called to order at 2:25 by the secretary. This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence for our men and women in the armed forces.
A prayer was then read by the secretary. All directors were present for this meeting with the exception of John McGuinness.
There were 157 people attending this meeting. 
The kitchen volunteers were thanked for a well done. A motion was then made and seconded to forego the reading of September’s minutes.
The president then announced that there will be two positions available on the board at the end of the year. Three people have submitted resumes. They are Terry Ristaino, Mario Pettineo and Anne DeMecurio. They were then asked give a short summary why they are running for the board.
Committee Reports:
Terry Ristaino the Drama & Variety show has been cancelled due to lack of participation.
Larry Fox Veterans and Friends will be having their fifth annual dinner dance on November 10th, in clubhouse 2 from 6-10pm. All monies raised go to the local veterans of Toms River.
Sally Nielsen the dance committee will be having a Halloween dance on October 27th; from 7-11pm. Tickets are $10.00. Refreshments will be served. Bring your own snacks.
Charlie Nielsen will be giving up the running of bingo after next year. He will put an ad in the paper asking anyone interested to get in touch with him. He also stated that he would stay on for a while and help.
Sue DeMaria the day planner’s trip to Cape Cod being the first away trip had some problems and they now know what to look for when planning other trips. October 7th will be a game day in clubhouse 1, from 1-4. October 18 there is a trip to Smithville. The bus will leave clubhouse 1 parking lot at 9:30am. A list of all upcoming trips will be printed in the paper. She asked anyone signing up for a trip(s) leave their phone number. Tickets to all events can be purchased the 1st and 3rd Tuesday in clubhouse 1 from 11-12.
Barbara Egner the Holly Twigs will be having a boutique sale at Community Medical Center November 16th. All the proceeds from the sale go to the hospital for the purchase not in their budget.
Directors Report:
Mario Pettineo has received complaints regarding the grass cutter leaving ruts in the lawns. He explained that due to the rains the ground is damp therefore causing this. He asked the residents to not turn on their sprinklers after a heavy rainfall.
Barbara Benson there will be a Meet and Greet October 21st in clubhouse 1 from 2-4. Anyone who did not receive an invitation and would like to attend, get in touch with the office and leave their name and phone number. A game day was held on the 7th of October. She then gave the housing report which will be printed separately in the paper.
Henry Reinhard the balance of accounts as of September 30, 2018. General Account $483,367.35, Payroll account $16,057.92 and Capital Improvement $498,965.87.
Terry Ristaino the board is getting monies back on the houses in foreclosure. She asked anyone having a complaint with the work being done by Verizon to file a complaint and she will look into it.
Barbara Egner spoke about the problems with the cutting of the grass due to the rain. Her full report will be printed separately in the paper.
Old Business:
New Business: Larry Fox asked about the bill of $12,750 for the sprinkler system. This was for the drilling of a new well.
A vote was taken and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 3:10.
